Completed in 2001, Allen Arena is a versatile facility hosting athletic events, on campus convocations, and other events such as dinners, concerts, area-wide worship services, and graduations. The arena is primarily used for basketball and volleyball athletic events and is also used for daily chapel services and occasional concerts.
The arena was named in honor of James C. and Linda Allen, the facility's primary benefactors. Allen Arena has served as host to the TSSAA Division II basketball championships since 2005.
Opened in 1973, the Charles M. Murphy Athletic Center serves as home of the Middle Tennessee State men's and women's basketball teams, who play their home games in the 11,520 seat Monte Hale Arena. Murphy Center has hosted TSSAA state basketball tournaments since 1973.
During its 45-year existence, Murphy Center has staged countless concerts for some of the world's most renowned artists, including Elvis Presley, Elton John, Kiss and three consecutive sold-out performances by multi-platinum country music sensation Garth Brooks.
