Sharon Watson, born on August 25, 1953, established a remarkable career as the head girls' volleyball coach at Briarcrest Christian School, dedicating 22 years to fostering athletic excellence and sportsmanship. Her tenure was marked by a prestigious 76% winning percentage, encapsulating a stellar career record of 554-178. Under Watson's guidance, the Briarcrest Lady Saints flourished, making thirteen appearances at the TSSAA State tournament, where they clinched the TSSAA State Championship titles four times in 1981, 1987, 1989, and 1990.

Watson's contributions to volleyball and her broader service to TSSAA did not go unnoticed. In 1992, she was honored with a TSSAA Distinguished Service Award, recognizing her significant contributions and dedication to high school athletics in Tennessee. Additionally, her accolades include being named the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA) Coach of the Year in 1987, an acknowledgment of her expertise and success as a coach.

Her impact extended beyond the volleyball court as Watson also served as the Principal at Briarcrest Middle School for nearly two decades, showcasing her leadership skills and commitment to education. Her dedication to Briarcrest Christian School was commemorated through her induction into the Briarcrest Christian School Hall of Fame in 2005, celebrating her lasting legacy within the institution.

Watson retired in 2016, concluding a distinguished career that had not only shaped champions on the court but also molded young individuals through sportsmanship, leadership, and education. Her 2022 induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame stands as a testament to her remarkable contributions to high school sports in Tennessee, honoring her service and achievements within the TSSAA and solidifying her legacy as an esteemed coach and educator.
