Tom Weathers, born on November 22, 1939, embarked on an illustrious career before being inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2019 as a coach. His journey in football coaching saw him serving as an assistant at five different schools, laying the groundwork for his remarkable tenure at Red Bank High School in Chattanooga, TN, beginning in 1973. Over 29 years, Weathers transformed the Red Bank football program into a powerhouse, securing 222 wins against 85 losses.

The pinnacle of his career came in the year 2000 when he led the Red Bank team to a TSSAA State Championship in Class 5A, boasting an impeccable 15-0 record for the season.
