Glenn McCadams, a revered figure in the world of Tennessee high school football, left a lasting legacy that was celebrated with his induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2014. Born on March 4, 1947, McCadams embarked on a coaching journey that spanned over 40 remarkable years, shaping the lives of countless young athletes and fostering a culture of excellence and sportsmanship.

His career began in West Tennessee, where he took the helm at Milan and Peabody high schools. However, it was his remarkable 31-year tenure at Lipscomb Academy (formerly Lipscomb High School), starting in 1982, that truly defined his illustrious career. Under his leadership, the football program flourished, compiling an impressive overall record of 319 wins against 112 losses. His strategic insights and motivational leadership propelled Lipscomb Academy's teams to TSSAA State Championships in 1994, 2002, and 2007, while also achieving the status of State Runners-up four times. McCadams' tenure was highlighted by consistent success, with his teams advancing to the postseason in 27 of his 31 years at Lipscomb.

Beyond his coaching accomplishments, McCadams demonstrated a profound commitment to the betterment of high school sports in Tennessee. He served on the Board of Directors for TACA and took on the role of Vice-President of the Football Coaches Association. His influence extended to the TSSAA where he served as a Region Coordinator, further exemplifying his dedication to enhancing the quality and integrity of high school athletics.

In addition to his coaching prowess, McCadams also contributed significantly as an Assistant Principal for 26 years and as an Athletic Director for 25 years, roles that underscored his multifaceted impact on high school sports. Throughout his career, he was honored with numerous awards acknowledging his coaching achievements and significant contributions to high school football in Tennessee.

Glenn McCadams passed away on March 21, 2013, but his legacy endures through the lasting impact he made on his players, colleagues, and the broader Tennessee high school sports community. His 2014 induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame stands as a fitting tribute to a coach who not only achieved tremendous success on the field but also exemplified the values of leadership, integrity, and service to TSSAA.
