Ken Netherland's illustrious coaching career, spanning nearly four decades in West Tennessee, culminated in his posthumous induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2016. Born on September 11, 1939, Netherland's journey as a transformative football coach began at Hillcrest High School, where he served from 1966 to 1974. His tenure was marked by dedication and a profound impact on his students, laying the groundwork for a storied career in high school football coaching.

Netherland's legacy was significantly shaped during his nearly 30-year stint at Germantown High School. It was here that his coaching excellence truly shone, leading the school to a TSSAA State Championship victory in 1983. This monumental achievement underscored Netherland's strategic prowess and his ability to inspire and extract the best from his teams.

Continuing his service to TSSAA member schools, Netherland moved to St. George’s Independent School in Collierville, where he clinched his second state championship in 2007. This victory not only solidified his reputation as one of Tennessee's premier coaches but also underscored his versatility and adaptability in various coaching environments.

Before concluding his coaching career, Netherland made his final stop at Lausanne Collegiate School from 2010 until 2013. Throughout his career, his remarkable win record of 368 victories made him the second-winningest coach in the state of Tennessee and positioned him within the top 40 nationally for most football coaching victories. This accomplishment highlights the breadth of his success and the indelible mark he left on high school football.

Netherland's career was adorned with numerous accolades, including membership in the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame, illustrating the wide recognition of his contributions to high school sports. His longstanding membership in the Lawrenceburg Touchdown Club further showcased his commitment to football beyond the sidelines.
