Jerry Vradenburg's distinguished career in education and coaching, which spanned over three decades from 1961 to 1994, culminated with his induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2007. Starting at Kingston Springs Elementary School, he coached both boys' and girls' basketball teams in the early years of his career (1961-1962). His journey continued at White House High School (1962-1966) where he served as an assistant football coach and led both the boys' and girls' basketball teams.

The majority of Vradenburg's coaching career was spent at Gallatin High School (1966-1994), where he significantly contributed to the school's athletic programs. While serving as an assistant football coach, his most notable achievements came from leading the basketball and golf teams. His girls' basketball teams had an impressive record of 52-8 from 1966 to 1968, while his boys' basketball teams amassed a record of 387-205 from 1966 to 1988, highlighted by winning the TSSAA State Championship in 1973 and making four TSSAA State Tournament appearances. Additionally, Vradenburg's tenure overseeing the boys' and girls' golf teams from 1976 to 1993 was marked by a remarkable combined record of 536-83 and twelve district titles in the last fourteen years.

Beyond his coaching duties, Vradenburg also served as Gallatin High School’s Athletic Director for 26 years (1968-1994), reflecting his deep commitment to high school sports. His overall basketball record stood at an impressive 559-296. His service and excellence in coaching were recognized through numerous awards, including being named District Golf Coach of the Year 12 times and receiving the TSSAA Distinguished Service Award in 1987.

Jerry Vradenburg's legacy, marked by his exceptional leadership, dedication to student-athletes, and significant contributions to high school sports in Tennessee, was rightfully honored with his induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame, solidifying his place among the state's athletic icons.
