THSAA member
First organized in 1887 by the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church as Greeneville College. Became a public school for black students in 1932. George Clem became the school's principal in 1935. Named in honor of George Clem in 1939. Closed in 1965 as a result of desegregation. The school building now serves as the Greeneville City Schools central office.
