Turner Jackson's distinguished career, spanning over four decades, has left an indelible mark on high school athletics in Tennessee. Born on March 14, 1953, Jackson embarked on a journey that would see him excel as a teacher, coach, and administrator, culminating in his 2020 induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame.

Jackson's career in education and athletics began at Lake Fort Oglethorpe High School, where he dedicated two years as the head wrestling coach. However, it was at Bradley Central High School, starting in 1979, that he truly left his mark. Over the years, Jackson coached an array of sports including wrestling, cross country, track and field, and softball. His commitment to student-athletes and passion for sports was matched by his leadership abilities, which led him to serve as the Athletic Director at Bradley Central for over 20 years.

Notably, Jackson's contributions extended beyond the local level. He was honored as the TIAAA Athletic Director of the Year and the Region 3 A. F. Bridges Athletic Director of the Year. His excellence in coaching and administration garnered him membership in prestigious circles including the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame, the Bradley Co. Old Timers Hall of Fame, and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame. Furthermore, in 1976, he was named the TN Sports Hall of Fame Athlete of the Year, a testament to his prowess as both an athlete and an educator.

Even after retiring in 2015, Jackson's dedication to nurturing young talents remained unwavering. He continued to teach wellness and served as the Athletic Director at Bradley Central on a 100-day contract. His life's work not only reflects his commitment to excellence in sports but also his dedication to empowering young individuals through athletics. Turner Jackson's legacy is a beacon of inspiration, showcasing the profound impact one individual can have on the lives of many through service, leadership, and passion for sports.
