TSSAA Official 7 Years (1947 – 1954)

    • Worked as a football official for 5 decades in every level from high school to professional
    • Worked as an official in 4 college conferences
    • Worked professionally in 4 different leagues:  AFL, NFL, WFL, and USFL
    • Officiated in the AFL and NFL from 1966 – 1974
    • Officiated in 4 NFL Playoff games
    • Worked the WFL’s World Bowl Championship game in 1975
    • Credits his father, fellow TSSAA Hall of Fame member, S. D. Jackson with getting him started in officiating
    • His father was also a TSSAA official, and a voting member of the NFHS Rules Committee
    • Worked in the Ohio Valley Conference from 1954 – 1960
    • Worked the Southern Conference from 1960 – 1964
    • Worked the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in 1965
    • Hunter’s organizational leadership skills let to the establishment of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame in the tri-cities in 1993, where he was elected as the first chapter president
    • Was founding member of Southern Indiana College Officials’ Association (SICOA)
    • Member of the Southern Indiana College Officials’ Association (SICOA) from 1976 – 1991
    • The SICOA began with only 10 schools—today it is known as Conference USA
