  • Received Distinguished Service Award for National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS)  for contributions in officiating at the high school level (1986)
  • Currently the head golf coach at the University of Tennessee at Martin (since 2002)
  • Received a Distinguished Service Award from the TSSAA in 1998
  • Received the Official of the Year Award from the TSSAA for recognition in displaying high ideals of integrity and ethics and for his examples of citizenship and sportsmanship (1998 – 1999)
  • In 2000, he received the Outstanding Employee Award by the University of Tennessee at Martin
  • Served six years on the Weakley County School Board
  • Served four years on the Weakley County Commission
