Teacher and basketball coach for over 40 years in the Memphis area, most notably at Fairley High School

Began his career at Oakhaven High School in 1968

Coached at Tech High School and Memphis Northside High School

Went to Fairley High School in 1987 and served as the head coach there until 2012

Compiled 687 wins in his 40-year career

His 1993 Fairley team went 37-1 and won the TSSAA State Championship in Class AAA

His son, Deuce, was an All-American on the 1993 Fairley team and is now the head coach at Fairley

Coach Ford retired in 2012, but continues as a volunteer assistant for his son at Fairley

The gymnasium at Fairley High School was renamed in his honor in 2014
