  •  Has officiated basketball for 37 years

  • Currently in his 46th year as a TSSAA baseball umpire

  • In basketball he worked post-season tournaments for over 30 years and officiated in two TSSAA State Basketball Tournaments—one boys and one girls

  • Began officiating baseball in 1966, and has worked over 40 years of post-season tournaments, including two TSSAA State Tournaments

  • Has served as a baseball Assigning Officer for over 30 years in the Middle Tennessee area

  • Mr. Armstrong taught and coached football for 40 years until his retirement in 2004

  • Coached football at Pearl, Cumberland, Whites Creek, McGavock, and Maplewood high schools

  • Coached wrestling for three years

  • Continues to officiate and serve as a baseball Assigning Officer, and assists the football team at Maplewood High School
