Served as the Athletic Director at Bolivar Central High School for 23 years
Directed numerous district and regional basketball tournaments held at Bolivar Central High School
Under his leadership, Bolivar Central High School contributed more to the TSSAA Hall of Champions fund than any other member school through benefit basketball games
Was a long-time TSSAA basketball official and supervisor of officials, and his two brothers and father were officials as well
His father, Fred F. Kessler, Sr. was inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2001 as an official
