Taught and coached for nearly 40 years
Spent first five years in Kentucky as a football coach
Coached football and basketball at Nashville’s Pearl High School for ten years
Assistant Basketball coach on Pearl’s 1966 undefeated State Championship squad
Assistant Principal at Bass Middle and East High School, both in Nashville
Principal at Highland Heights and Maplewood high schools
Served on the TSSAA Board of Control for three years (1993 – 1996)
Received a TSSAA Distinguished Service Recognition
Taught college courses at Trevecca University and Tennessee State University throughout his career
Inducted into the Metro Football Hall of Fame and the Region 6-AAA Metro Basketball Hall of Fame
Retired in 1998
