Ronnie Carter

Inducted 2011

  • Taught and coached for 11 years at McMurray Jr. High and John Overton High School in Nashville

  • Took position of Assistant Executive Director at TSSAA in 1978

  • Upon Gill Gideon’s retirement in 1986, he became the Executive Director of TSSAA

  • Served on numerous National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Rules Committees

  • Member of NFHS Board of Directors from 1988 to 2002

  • Elected President of the NFHS for the 2001 – 2002 term

  • Retired in 2009 after serving 31 years with the TSSAA (23 as Executive Director)

  • Received Lifetime Service Award from National Wrestling Hall of Fame

  • Received Fred Russell Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Nashville Sports Council
