      • Very involved with the Young Life Organization
      • Baseball umpire for 20 years in the Southeastern and Atlantic Coast Conferences
      • Director and Clinician of TSSAA Umpire Camps and Clinics for the past 15 years
      • Received Amateur Award by the East Tennessee Chapter of the National Football Foundation
      • Named Athletic Director of the Year by TSSAA in 2000 – 2001
      • Inducted into the Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame
      • Inducted into the Carson-Newman College Sports Hall of Fame
      • Supervisor of Chain Crew for University of Tennessee Football
      • In 1986, the Fulton High School football field was named after him
