Served as men’s basketball coach at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski for 10 years (1985 – 1995)
Coached men’s basketball at Athens State University for 9 years (1995 – 2004)
Served as the athletic director for the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1956
The Giles County High School football program was dedicated to him in 2004
He is the recipient of the first Martin Methodist Spirit Award, which was dedicated in his name
Inducted into the Martin Methodist Sports Hall of Fame in February of 2008
