    • Coached first TSSAA Girls’ Basketball All-Star Team in 1969
    • Coached TSSAA Girls’ Basketball All-Star Team in 1974
    • Received District Coach of the Year 7 times
    • Took teams to the TSSAA Girls State Basketball Tournament 18 times in a 21 year period
    • Coach Johnson’s teams were the only ones to win 3 Girls State Championships before classification began
    • Coach Johnson started the first basketball camps for girls in the state of Tennessee, “Galen Johnson Basketball Camps”, and continued operation for 38 years; over 50,000 players came from 16 different states
    • Currently #5 in the state of Tennessee for most wins in girls’ basketball
    • Ranks in top 20 Nationally for most wins in girls’ basketball
    • Porter teams won 20 or more games 24 years in a row, which was a national record
    • Coach Johnson was a Charter Member of the Blount County Sports Hall of Fame
