  • Jackson County High School Gymnasium named after him
  • Selected by the Tennessean in 1964 as outstanding coach in Middle Tennessee, and was the recipient of the first “Willie Hudson Award”
  • Served 2 years on the UPI and AP Board of coaches and sports writers
  • In 1966 and 1967 he lectured at coaching clinics at TTU and MTSU on the intricacies of defense, using his teams for demonstration
