Coach Farr started one of the first public school wrestling programs in the state of Tennessee in 1958

He constructed his own wrestling facility by digging out in the school basement

Started the first Invitational Wrestling Tournament—the “Red Bank Invitational” in 1961

Started the first Wrestling Officials’ Association in the state

Served as the first state tournament director at the first TSSAA State Wrestling Tournament in 1965

Published articles in “Amateur Wrestling News” and “Scholastic Wrestling News”

Started a wrestling program at Chattanooga State Community College

Known as “Father of Wrestling” in Tennessee

Officiated the NCAA Wrestling Finals
