  • Coach Coughenour has been selected as Coach of the Year 9 times
  • In 1998-99, inaugural year of the A. F. Bridges Sportsmanship Award, he was selected as Male Coach of the Year in District 1
  • One of his former athletes said, “Through all of his accomplishments ha remained a very humble person.  He takes his greatest pride in the wide range of lives he has influenced.  While some coaches are most interested in the short-term goals of meet victories or state titles, Coach Coughenour works hardest towards the long-term goals of helping his runners grow into successful and productive adults.”
  • Retired from teaching in 2004, but continues to coach cross country and assist in track
