  • Directed over 700 middle and high school coaches as Metro Nashville’s Athletic Director
  • During Mr. Brunette’s tenure the number of student-athletes has increased as well as increased representation in Regional and State level competitions
  • An increased emphasis was placed on safety, sportsmanship, and integrity among coaches and players, which resulted in higher expectations, better behavior, and safer play
  • Nashville City Civitan Club Civitan of the Year Award (2001)
  • TSSAA A. F. Bridges Sportsmanship Award as School System Administrator of the Year (1999 – 2000, 2007 - 2008)

  • National Wrestling Hall of Fame (2009)
