        • Winning Streak:  32 Games
        • Bowl Games:  14; Record:  10 – 1 – 3
        • 1937 team led the nation in scoring and was featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not as the “Point a Minute Team”

        • Made 21 Region Tournament Appearances
        • Made 4 State Tournament Appearances

  • In December of 1983, he became the first TSSAA representative to be inducted into the National High School Sports Hall of Fame
  • The Middle Tennessee Football Officials Association awarded Coach Smith a distinguished award for 35 years (1928 – 1962) of unselfish service to Middle Tennessee high school football and wholehearted cooperation with football officials and coaches
  • On June 9, 1967, Coach Smith was presented the Distinguished Service Award by the National Athletic Coaches Association.  He was also presented the “High School Coach of the Decade” for Southeastern states.
  • Voted North Central Conference Coach of the Decade in 1970
  • Presented with the Distinguished American Award by the Middle Tennessee Chapter National Football Hall of Fame on April 22, 1972
  • Was selected sportsman coach of the year by fellowship of Christian Athletes Foundation in 1954
  • On May 9, 1972, was honored as Middle Tennessee’s “winningest” coach at a recognition banquet
  • Inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in January of 1975
  • The Springfield Jaycees dedicated their football bowl to be named the “Boyce Smith Bowl” on November 18, 1976
